After waiting about an hour at Brooks,KY and seeing one train, We head to Buchel,KY to catch some catfish. My first good shot of the day was a NS Westbound at Buchel,KY Then after waiting about 10 mins for the signal to change for another westbound we 112! So then after hearing over the scanner that we got a NS Eastbound we go find another location to shoot at. Then we hear a few more eastbounds so here is a few of the pics.
I don't know how you got to keep the catfish focused with the background blurry but a very neat and great shot.
Its a pan shot. You put your F Stop real high(I had mine on F25) and set your camera to the setting that doesnt make the clouds look blown out but still makes the shutter stay open for a second and you turn your body with the train and it makes it look like that!
Here is 2 from today! After waiting about 45mins for CSXT Q573 to cross this bridge it turned out 2 be 2 great shots! CSXT Q573 just pulling onto the old Pennsylvania Railroad bridge(Now LIRC) A few folks fishing in the good ole ohio river pays no attention to this massive beast crossing the bridge!
Awesome shots as usual, Alex!!! I love the pan shots and Q573 heading toward Clagg looks great. I guess these were taken with your D40? My wife wants a D60 so I'll have to show her how amazing the D40 is with your pictures.
Hey Steve, Yes they was takin with my D40. The D60 is basically the same except the D40 is a 6.1 MP and the D60 is like a 8MP! The D40's are now on-sale for like $350 over here acrossed the river at Murphys the last time I checked. If you pay $500 you get the D40,18-55MM Lens & a 55-200MM lens which is what I used for my Q573 shots.
I was just reading a couple Milwaukee threads. When I opened this thread, I saw this picture just including the top of the horse on the nose. With the rust making the white look orange, for an instant I thought "Hiawatha logo? But this is real..."
