Tim, Good pics but I share your frustration about railfans who get too close to trains, it's these guys who will spoil it for everyone. Do you have any more photos to post???
Here are some of my shots from a few hours there a while back. It is amazing how people let their kids grow up to be barely functional in society and yet somehow fail to get themselves killed. But I was fortunate to not get too many photos with interlopers. The rest of the set can be viewed here: http://rides.webshots.com/album/552302643KwAbfs
Colonel, If I didn't post them on this thread they are in railimages. I forgot which ones I posted and which ones I didn't. SD70MAC, A couple of my shots I just "winged it" from the shelter house. (since I didn't feel like setting up my tripod) But some of the other ones it was impossible to not get anyone. I really wasn't there to shoot. There was a meeting there of the local ATCS group. One of the guys in the group I know so I thought I'd swing in and say hi. Tim
I was not attempting to be critical of your photographs, I was agreeing that there were a lot of people there who couldn't seem to keep out of the way. In fact, I believe there were more people there the day you were there than the day I was there.
unfortunately I have few "good" memories of Rochelle. I couldn't stand working that station. Just too far of a drive, and the TM was a real &^$(##$. CT
SD, I think you misunderstood my post or I didn't explain myself correctly. I was just stating a fact about my day. I didn't mean to be critical in any way. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Tim
More Rochelle trains Tim, I don't want to hijack your thread but all you Rochelle fans have to go check this link. Some one else was spending some time watching trains in Rochelle and is shareing his photos. http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?p=400624&posted=1#post400624
