Caught these two trains recently... First one passing the Rio Hotel going westbound Next one is a California bound manifest heading downgrade near Jean, NV
I used to watch trains right there at the bridge at the Rio. Rio was under construction then; almost complete. Nice pictures that bring back good memories.
Mike, you have some very unique background settings there in LV and you do a great job with them. Did you hear it was 3 degrees above zero in the Antelope Valley a few days ago? :teeth:
I sure did Fitz, reminds me of my last winter in Lancaster,...at 5 degrees! Had to run the water all nite to avoid any problems with the pipes.
That looks a little familiar to me. our family went to Las Vegas last year and we stayed at the Mirage. I was watching trains out of the window. I could see the tracks went right next to the hotel and then looking away (maybe south)??? the tracks went under a overpass and dissapeared into the buildings and houses. if I remember right there is a hotel under construction across from it. Further north there was a big tower with a huge UP logo on it and what looked to be a yard. I didnt realy get to check it out but from what I saw, it was interesting. I loved it.
