    Just a quickie:
I just finished scratch building a very southwestern-looking church on the layout. It is populated with a group of Franscican Brothers, and is located next to the Pueblo of San Christobol. One of the senior monks, a Preiser figure in full robe, gray hair and beard, awaits his brethern just outside the gate of the church. The other day my now-5-year-old was showing a friend the layout. When he got to the church he pointed to the aged friar and exclaimed "my daddy thought of everything...see he even has Jesus on the layout!
    :D Happy Modeling! :D

From the mouths of babes....... [IMG]

My layout is still in the benchwork-and-blue-foam-with-track-on-it stage, so I'm a bit jealous of your posts...... :D . Actually, they're giving me some incentive.
Any chance of seeing the SFSW on your website (or, since I'm in Clifton, in person?)

    Bob,
There is still not too much to see on my layout, but you are always welcome to visit. E-mail me offline and we'll discuss when. I won't be posting anything on my website because my pals at Homestead decided to lock everyone's websites and charge them to unlock them. I told them what they could do with the website. I am in search of another place to build a new one, so if you have any suggestions....

I am not too happy with Homestead either, but I still have a website there since I downsized before the deadline. As far as I can determine, everything is functioning as it should. I may not have e-mail services, and I may not be able to update the page; but I guess one of these days I will find out. Until that time, I'll leave my account pretty much in limbo!

Just as soon as I have some time I will check out Yahoo...I need a good place to start a website that is easy to maintain AND FREE! Then I can post pics of things like Jesus at the church (the poor old friar will never live this down ;) !!

Ditto on the Homestead. I had 2 sites I was maintaining for scout groups, and now can't get into either one. I went to GeoCities (Yahoo). Their stuff is easier to work with, anyway.
What really burned me was they never bothered to notify us of the change (they did notify some).

    John,

I set up with Webshots. It isn't a homepage, but it does let you post pictures and give captions for your photos. It is free and also allows me to post pictures here on trainboard also. You might want to check them out at Webshots

Not sure how much longer Webshots will be around. It's owned by Excite@home, and on September 28 they announced that they have agreed to sell essentially all of their broadband Internet access business assets and related services to AT&T for $307 million in cash. The Company plans to file for relief under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in San Francisco. While the bankruptcy court reviews the proposed sale and other offers that may emerge, Excite@Home has sufficient cash on hand to finance its operations, including supporting the Company's post-petition trade and employee obligations, as well as its ongoing operating needs during the process.

    Sorry...
