BOULDER - Boulder Police say a man who was hit by a car Tuesday night, was released from the hospital and then got hit by a train Wednesday morning.

The man, 46-year-old Robert Evans, survived the train accident.

Police say he is a transient and was the victim of a hit-and-run accident Tuesday night. He was released from the hospital early Wednesday morning, and was heading back with his bike to the campsite where he sleeps. As he was attempting to beat the train across a bridge in the 4700 block of Pearl Street, he was struck by the train. He fell 10 feet into the water below.

Evans was checked out and is going to be OK.

Evans was given a ticket for trespassing in connection with the train accident. Police are still investigating the hit and run accident.

This is either extraordinary circumstances, or we have someone who needs to be kept out of the public venues.

I feel bad for that train crew.
