    Hi,
I have a question about the use of 89 ft flatcars
on the TTWX to carry containers, it has small carriers for the container .But are they loose or where do they go when not in use .
Please have a look at this pic ,

    Please anyone who knows .

    Thanks

ns737 is correct. If you look close, you can actually see some of the pedestals in the stored position on the car in your picture (near end, for example). Notice the car also has a track for the pedestals to be adjusted for different length containers. There's even enough pedestals to carry four 20' containers.

Incidentally, the sliding track and stored pedestals is something MT modeled very nicely on their 89 flats.

    Rumor...

There is a rumor on the Atlas forum that a announcement for HO 89' TTWX flatcars will be coming soon. Since Atlas has a good reputation for doing new products in HO & N scales, odds are good a new intermodal flat may be coming. Now if we can get Walthers on the bandwagon!! And maybe get MT to do 'runner packs', (OK, now I'm dreaming!!)

Not just a rumor. Here is a photo of the HO flat at the WP prototype modelers meet.

Unfortunately there is no information yet specifying which markings or style
logo is going to be offered. According to Rob Pisani, one of the Trailer Train
will be early 1980's so I hope that means one is TTWX with the Trailer Train
logo. It has been established that the Walthers cars are the much less common
TOFC only flat cars with no container pedestals and tracks (WTTX and TTX). The
Walthers look nice, but since they represent a much rarer type of car, I
probably won't be getting as many in order to keep a relative balance of car
types on my roster vs real life.

If you have any idea what Atlas is going to offer - ie TTWX etc, it would be
nice to know. I imagine there should be an official announcement forth coming
    in the near future.

Sure, but of all the manufacturers, Atlas is best when it comes to multi-scale releases. And if their HO and N articulated autorack is an indicator, the price of the N scale 89' flat would be about 30% lower than the HO version :)

Atlas likes to anounce complimentary products at the same time. Fr example the Front Runners were anounced the same time as the Pines 45cme out. Now we know they re making 48' Pines trailers in N. When they anounced those in HO they were with the 89' flat.

Its a pretty good guess we will have them in N.
