On several other boards, Rich Melvin, CMO of the Ft. Wayne Historical Society and engineer of the Nickel Plate 765, has announced that the restoration work on 765 is behind schedule and they will not make their scheduled appearance at Ohio Central's Trainfest. This is a disappointment, but a tribute to the integrity of these guys, announcing up front that they won't make it. Many other organizations have been less than truthful about such appearances, disappointing a lot of railfans AT the events, not before. :(
Rest assured when the 765 does come out of the shop, she will be a brand new locomotive, in the tradition of her original builder, Lima Locomotive Works. :D
On the plus side, the Canadian Pacific Hudson 2816 has made break-in runs and will hopefully double head with Milwaukee Road 261 on the July 4th weekend. I have tickets. [IMG]

At least they made their announcement far in advance of the event. Not at the last moment.

Looking forward to seeing lot's of photos!
