Hmmm, no entries. I would have posted but all I have are a couple of AC4400s and a pair of 6 axil Uboats. With no scenery I didn't see a point.
One of my favorite engines, a Cotton Belt B40-8, backs on to the turntable. I built this N Scale of Nevada kit during many hours at the Belmont Shore Club while waiting for a call to go to work. It is now on an Atlas mechanism; all the details here were provided in the kit. The front right corner steps were demolished in a crash from the layout. I completely rebuilt the steps using strip styrene; this was one of my first attempts at scratch building. I was so tickled at how they turned out that I left them in primer paint! Well, enough of that nostalgia stuff. Here's the picture.
I have a few Alcos dying to have their picture taken in new scenery... No GEez, however... How long was the B40 built before Atlas released it, Flash? Love the weathering....
Wikipedia says they were built in 1988-1989. Spookshow says the model was first released by Atlas in 2002. I think this is about right as my model was built around 1995. I ran it on the club layout for a long time before anyone else had one; it was the only one I had, too. This is my chance to post the prototype where I first saw it in Dolores Yard. This is a scanned photo. I saw the same engine three days later in San Antonio Kirby yard.
I was trying to get some pics this weekend, But I've been pretty busy. I'll get one taken today. Flash that B40 is cool! I did an SP one before Atlas painted them in SP,But your's is a much bigger project.
Good, folks are responding. I'll post when I get home. Maybe I can do something creative. Hmmmmm.....
GE provided the electricals for Alco to build the S-2 switchers. This is an old Arnold Rapido model that has lights added and is decorated for the Houston Belt and Terminal.
