My contest entry Here's my entry. It's Union Station in Portland, Oregon. I work within four or five blocks of this line, which is one reason on nice days I go on little railfanning walks. Adam
Missing entry I posted this last night, but perhaps the little elves moving all those electrons around dropped this load in an alleyway somewhere! Dinner Time at Devore Some may argue, but they are few. There's no railfan eatery that holds a candle to Joe's Country Corner at Devore in Southern California. What makes it so special is it sits right on the only spot where the three tracks running up (or down) Cajon Pass converge. So, you can sit (outside of course, this is California) and see the BNSF Transcons come roaring by, as well as miscellaneous UP trains, some on the Palmdale Cutoff and some on the BNSF tracks. All but a few feet away. So... catch a sundowner and a burger as Uncle Pete and Warren Buffett's finest provide the entertainment. Is that the greatest time for a railfan, or what?
I drew a blank this week!!! I went out Sunday evening but really couldn't come up with anything that interested me. I did take some pics, but I decided to just wipe the memory card out on the camera.......... I still liked the topic. You really had to go out and search for a great subject!!
Ok the challenge is now closed I will post the poll tomorrow morning. Late entries may be still accepted if there is a good reason
Good set of entries, I can't wait to vote. I had a planned shot, but when I went to photo it on Sunday, it was unavailable.
Some very diverse photos and lots of different subjects, this has been one of the best challenges so far. I have now opened the poll for voting, lets encourage as many members as we can so cast there vote. Doug A what happened I thought you were planning to enter this one?
Colonel, I really enjoy these contests. Didn't get an entry in this week cause I wasnt feeling well on Monday. Had a shot of the Kelso, WA Amtrak depot. Anyway. I was wondering if it would be difficult to add a link to each of the entrys in the poll section? It definately isn't neccesary, but might be helpful when voting. Again, these are always fun contests to partake in and just watch and vote.
Well i was gonna put an entry in but i ended up going to Alabama out on the road and didnt get a chance to do so. But oh well i guess ill have to wait till the next challenge.
My vote is in. Excellent pictures everyone. This one was a bit of a head-scratcher as far as subject but I guess that's why it's a "challenge" now isn't it? Thank you Colonel for putting the time and effort into these contests. Great fun!
I cast my vote too, and as everyone can see, I didn't vote for myself! It was tough to choose, there were a few great pictures!
That's why we were alowed to vote for more then one photo. We can vote for our self, our buddy, and still vote for the best photo. (the voices in my head say that's just not right) Get your votes in for your favorites
Don't you just love the colors that the K100D captures, Colonel? Didn't vote for ya though. That Denver Union Station picture is too good! :shade:
