I was wondering if anyone has links to track, engines, cars, ect for a 7.5 inch ride-on railroad. I don't care about price, because I'm trying to find stuff to use when I get the money and room to get and build a large layout. I also need to find an F-7 body, because I found a frame, but it needs a customer supplied body. I don't have the link with me right now, but will post it when I get home. I have found a link website, but as I said before, do not have it with me. I want some center-beam ride-on cars, and other ride on cars. If oyu know of anyone who runs these trains, please ask them who made the equipment they use and post it here. Thanks Nate (Sorry about this bieng so long )
Welcome- I hope someone could enlighten me as to what a 7.5 inch railroad is. I truly have no clue unless Nathan is referring to a 7.5-1 ratio.
Fotheringill: Nathan is referring to a 7.5 inch (19.05 cm) guage, usually live steam or diesel. The types of model trains you can ride on. I am sure there are some websites for those who operate such real type engines. http://www.evergreensrail.plus.com/ http://www.pjseng.co.uk/ http://www.phoenixlocos.com/index.php?prod=phoenix&sub=about http://www.railsystemsco.com/our%20company.htm Oops! Help me resize! It is bigger than N scale. [ 18. January 2005, 19:27: Message edited by: sapacif ]
That's it, it just that the companies don't neccesarily have the parts I had in mind, but I guess I couldmake my own cars with those trucks.
Flash- I seem to have block out everything except N. Thank you for the enlightenment. I am a better person for it.
My modeling experience has been in the smaller scales- my assumption would be that you'll wind up doing a lot of fab work (scratchbuilding, to modellers). If it helps any, I could get you some contact info for a rapid prototyping machine shop near me- my brother works there. They could do your sheetmetal and at least some of the structural work...
IIRC, there was an article in a recent Model Railroader about a guy who had a ride-on railroad in Ontario. He's the husband of cartoonist Lynn Johnston (For Better or For Worse), and from what I've seen in this article, he does excellent work. He also has a side business selling parts & accessories. Not sure if he's working in the same scale, though.
Message sent. I don't want to use TB for advertising, so I'm not posting his contact info. If anyone else is interested, write me and I will send you the same data.
Okay to advertise on the Yellow Forum if you like. http://www.trainboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/ubb/forum/f/64.html?
