I presently have a "flat" layout in a 6 x 12 ft space where the scenery goes up and down, what I would like to do is alter some of the present layout and put in a logging line where the track goes up and down also so I can put in bridges etc. If necessary I would re do my who layout as I am not that far into it. What I require is some sort of plan. A friend faxed me a copy of Roger Belanger"s Eagle Lake and East branch, from Great Model Railroads 1999 issue, that almost fits the size. Unfortunately it is a point to point and I would prefer a continous run. Some where ther has to be a spot that a switch or section of track can be added to accomplish this. Any comments or ideas, or has anyone else got a plan that is more suitable for my needs, many thanks for those who reply.

For got to add that I would like it to be in a
    "U" shape.

Well just up from the floor with paper, pensel and templates. Most of the curves are 18" r, is that bad for a logging line?? I think everything should look fine on it, short cars and loco's?? About 98 percent is 18" with a few 22". Any comments?? thanks Ron..

    Hey Ron:

18 inch curves in HO are more than fine for a logging road. Some logging equipment can go as tight as 15 inches or less, but 18 is practical.

As for modifying the plan, I don't have the design in front of me now, and I am not sure if I have that magazine or not. If I do I'll dig it out this afternoon.

Maybe if you had a map or schematic that would help people to advise you.
