    January 2006, BNSF and Boeing are celebrating the 5,000th 737 shipped by rail from Wichita to Renton! That's alot of planes!!

    No mention of a special train though. [​IMG] Wichita is building the 5,000th 737 fusalage right now, so it will be on the rails soon. Maybe keep an eye out for it? [​IMG]

    Being a special load, I'd wonder if at least the car would carry banners? So it would stand out? And fans would be able to easily follow progress? Photos?

    SEATTLE - Thursday was another milestone day for Boeing and its Renton plant.

    Workers began final assembly on the company's 5,000th 737 jet. The 737-700 is bound for Southwest Airlines and will be delivered sometime next month.

    Sales for the 737 passed 6,000 last month, reaching 6,099, making it the best-selling airplane of all time.

    The plane has been in production since 1967.

    Not really, those are just orders. Orders regularly lead production by quite a bit.


    I wonder where the dreamliner and the new 747 will be built?

    That is a bummer!! The main passes right past my front door and I see those Boeing cars all the time.
