That looks to be the one. It just showed up at the CADRail dismantling yard outside of Montreal. I was wondering when it was retired. Correction: It's CAD Railway Services, that does refurbishing, repair, and rebuilding, and not CADRail, the layout design software. Dave.
I wouldn't think she was retired unless she is wrecked badly. Build date is only Feb of 2001. (b/n 996188-14) What was her condition?
Checked back 3 months in the roster changes. No sign of her being retired unless it was this month. Hmmm.
Perhaps she is SD40-2 #4298 blt 1979 and retired Aug 2001. I don't see any notes she was renumbered before retirement. Chuck Doolittle photo
