Show off what you got for Christmas this year relating to your 3D creative space!

Sometimes the non-machinery items get overlooked so this year I was very happy to receive FOUR gallons of IPA for post processing my resin prints. Since Spring 2020 I've been particularly stingy with my IPA due to lack of availability but now that you can buy this stuff again I feel particularly spoiled:

    What'd you get?

    Nothing! o_O

Pretty happy with what I already have for 3d printing in terms of tools and supplies. Instead, bought paint for my 3d printed model - that's vaguely related :D

Somewhat off topic, but in late fall I bought a water distiller unit to re-purify my alcohol. With six litres in the wash and cure, I figured it might help. So far I've only used it once, but it did work to save half the alcohol I put in. Only used it once because I only use the machine outside, and it's too cold right now. Although I think I could still use it in the cold, I'm just not wanting to deal with the snow :D

I figure I could probably save more than half, but I had a bit of a brain-dead moment and made a mess when the pot leaked. Really must keep a vent open on the output pot!

Anyway, for now I keep the dirty alcohol in the old jugs, and will purify it come spring.

Edit: can't stress this enough, do NOT run this in your house, garage, or enclosed space!

I got an Ender 3 v2 printer for Christmas.

I assembled the new 3D Printer, leveled the glass table and promptly scratched the glass and damaged the nozzle before I ever printed anything. So I ordered new nozzles and corrected the table leveling the old fashioned way. (Verified clearance manually throughout the top).
Hopefully print something over New Years.

These two links helped me the most....

I do the 4 corner and middle test but not the print test he does. I'll print at least the first print with a 'skirt' to see how the filament is going down and might make slight adjustments on the level while it is doing the skirt.

At the following link I use the first bed leveling code that they talk about here. Is fast to do and works great and is in the video above ...

    https://www.chepclub.com/bed-level.html

I don't know if I have the 8-bit or 32-bit board so you might use a different file than I do for the same level testing.

I use one of Ender's magnetic bed covers and love it. I've been very happy with my print quality so haven't tried a glass table. Getting the bed level and checking it and making adjustments on the first layer is something you will acquire. If I change filament, fix a clog in the Bowden tube or the nozzle I'll always rerun the bed leveling software. Just takes a moment as I have it on the card in the printer. I send all my prints via a USB cable as the printer is close by.

The only other things I've done is the metal extruder (where it drives the filament). Other than that I'm stock and it works great that way. I do spray silicone inside the filament spool and the arm it rotates on that haven't had any problems in that area. Don't get the silicone on the table. I spray it on a paper towel and then wipe the surfaces down with it.

Have fun and let's see your prints,

    A shipment came in yesterday:

Of course, they forgot the resin I ordered with it, so now I have to wait for a second delivery before I can print anything.
