Does any of the sound decoder manufacturers offer a 3 cylinder variation, I have a SP 4-10-2 in N scale that I'm considering for sound. I've done a little searching on the internet, but have not had any luck.

    Decoder

Put in a SoundTraxx Tsunami decoder that has a cam input. Put a cam in the loco. Use your imagination for the cam install. Fine tune the decoder to get the sounds to what you like.
Those who put sound an a Shay do that.
The decoder selector will tell you which one. Look though the manuals and you will see all the connections. The Micro Tsunami is N Scale.

    SoundTraxx

There is a good SoundTraxx DCC Group with knowledgeable people. Specialized Groups are very helpful.

Soundtraxx don't have the 3 cylinder option as today.
Youcan play with a CAM as suggested : 3 cylinders (such as shays and 3-cylinder rod engines) and thus produce 6 exhaust chuffs per full wheel revolution.

The other possibility I see for you (lucky owner of one of the massive "beast" or "decks" as SP peoples call it. :) is the micro ESU Locksound 3.5 .
Test here a 3 cyl sound( for a german steam) :
ESU - Electronic Solutions Ulm GmbH Co. KG: Steam
    Or better (?): with a
ESU - Electronic Solutions Ulm GmbH Co. KG: LokProgrammer
    and the free software
ESU - Electronic Solutions Ulm GmbH Co. KG: LokProgrammer
you can replace specific sound on a decoder.
ESU - Electronic Solutions Ulm GmbH Co. KG: Locos with LokSound

PS... by the way, can we enjoy a picture of the engine? I love it, but...expensive brass.

Here is a pic of the monster. I saved for quite a while for this one, luckily my old LHS still had one stashed away.

Have to remember, the LokSound Micro is limited to 500 ma total current which includes lights.
Probably not important with N scale.

You can just work with the chuff rate until it sounds like a 3 cylinder loco.
Who made the loco? That tender looks like fun getting sound into.

    See here, for example:
    Key/Samhongsa (Korea) Brass SP 4-10-2

As per 0,5 A I've one Locksound micro 3.5 in an N scale Key MT and she run smooth.

Just finised up a 2-10-4 Hallmark (Samhongsa) unit. The tender was very large and I put a 16 X 35 speaker, the TSU-750 and two 22o uf (wired in series) capacitors inside.
Runs very well and sounds GREAT.
Sorry no photo's, has I don't know just how to post them.
