On my way home from 2 days of visiting Ludlow, we caught this power move, heading east at Newberry Springs on the BNSF Needles Sub.
Being all older AT&SF colors, I am wondering what was happening. Could be a power balancing move. But I have a feeling these were more likely destined for a new owner.
It's a wild try, but I *might* be able to learn a little more. Do you have date for this move? Know the lead engine number?
I once caught 11 Geeps struggling southbound up the Napavine hill on their way to Portland. I waited for the train at Napavine and I thought it would never make the top of the hill. It seemed like it took forever to go from Chehalis to Napavine. Somewhere I got pictures of all the engines. I just dont know where the roll of film went.
IIRC, Larry's Truck & Electric has only one location, and that's the one in Ohio. But I'm quite sure they will have enough room to store all of these lod beasts until such time as they are gone over & made ready for lease or sale.
