Ok so we've been dragging our feet on this year's edition as long as we could and to make a determination on this year's edition. After tonight's meeting and loosening of some of the restrictions on events lately here in Ohio we are going to be able to have the event but scaled back a bit and with some regulations still in place. Here's the link to the show page on our club blog for info. We hope to have more up to date weekend participant registration forms in place with restriction info and other guidelines.

    http://www.centralohiontrak.org/p/central-ohio-ntrak-n-scale-weekend.html

We will be enforcing mask wearing and social distancing in accordance with the local health department order.
The Friday night pizza party and Saturday night dinner have been cancelled per restrictions currently in place.
At this time there is no provision for on site food vendor as well per restrictions currently in place. This could be subject to change.
The auction on Saturday evening will be held weather permitting as the only way to have that at this time is outside.

A lot could change from now until then for the good or otherwise. Please watch for updates. Please
feel free to msg with any questions I am sure I've missed something.

    thanks

For those of us a bit map challenged, Hilliard is a western suburb of Columbus, Ohio.

It's at least theoretically possible that we could get there... now, I've jinxed it :)

Good to see train shows coming back. There's one in New Braunfels Texas next month that I intend to go to, even though it's almost 400 miles round trip. It's been entirely too long since I went to one.

Just a quick note. If you are planning on attending and bringing a TTrak module to be included in the TTrak layout please email our club TTrak Coordinator Andy at

    bellboyracing@gmail.com

and let him know the type of module you will be bringing. We are having to plan this year's show around the current social distancing guidelines and are currently determining how much space that can be utilized. There is a slight possibility that the layout could become full depending on any changes to the guidelines. Emailing ASAP will help ensure your module will be included.

Thanks and look forward to seeing everyone there!

Just a quick update. Nothing has dramatically changed to effect the event so far. We still have pretty much the same restrictions as listed in the initial post and as listed on our blog. Thanks for looking and hope to see you there.

Just a quick heads up. If you are planning to register for the weekend and wish to purchase this year's t-shirt we need to have your registration in hand this coming Thursday April 29th. The colors are yellow with black lettering. There will be a limited number of shirts on sale during the weekend but they usually sell out fast.

    See ya there!

I hope to make it, but I'm in the middle of a caboose move and not sure if we will be done by then.

My club in Athens will be there with our modular layout. We were looking forward to it last year...but we've gotten so much more scenery done in the past year, I'm almost glad last year was cancelled.

In other news, I'm ready to sink a lot of money on vendors...

Me and my "real estate superintendent" will be there bright and early! Real Estate = part of the house that can have trains...

Went there, done that! Another great show, both buildings were full of vendors and layouts. Keep up the good work!

Made the show both days. Picked up a few pieces. Saw a few people I have not seen in over a year. Good times.

Colleen and I were there on Saturday for a few hours. Logistics were simple, no waiting at opening time, two buildings. This was our first time at either of the N Scale Weekends. There was no issue with "crowd control" while we were there.

The floor space was more than 50 percent layouts, NTrak, TTrak, etc. with several different organizations represented. I took photos of most of the individual modules... with the good camera so not yet "processed." It's always interesting to see different approaches to the same concept; for example there were a number of different farm scenes and I'll take away bits from several of those when I do my own farm scene... soon, I hope. Colleen is more of a "tourist" at this point and liked the "tornado" (isn't that a requirement for a modular display layout) and the more whimsical scenes that also play well with the General Public. (Bonus points for the large water tank lettered "Denial.")

The rest of the space was, of course, vendors, with a good selection and almost all reasonable prices. I can report that I did not see ONE THING that rolled on track that was not N Scale. One of the participants noted that a few vendors did not make the trip this year which was a little disappointing, however there was certainly enough available for people to buy, and they did. I found a Kadee/Micro-Trains car that I did not already own (imagine that!). MTL certainly was one of the dominant products by percentage of stock available but there were plenty of other brands represented as well.

We're not sure what next year will bring but we'd certainly make the 6+ hour drive again if we can.
