    Hi,

I have a layout divided into 2 power districts, one on a DB150 and 1 on a DCS100. I have an issue where about half the time I power up the layout, the polarity between the 2 power districts is reversed. When a train crosses from one power district to the other I get the <Beep><Beep> and the train stutters while the DB150 switches polarity. The only thing that fixes it is to power cycle both command stations. I have them both on the same power strip and cycle the power strip and this syncs them up most of the time but sometimes I have to do it a few times. Is the fact that they are both on the same power strip the issue? Do I need to bring them up one at a time in a specific order?

    thanks,

    Kevin

Do you have the DB150 set up as a booster?

I did have the DB150 set with the A-Gnd jumper in place. I did notice that the "A" side of the jumper was a bit loose. I tightened it down and will see if it will help.

    thanks,

One other question, do you have a ground wire between the cases of each unit and to the enter screw of the 110 VAC receptacle to ground the system? Digitrax does recommend that you bring up the command station first, then the booster about 10 seconds later. With that said,I have my command station & boosters on the same circuit and have never had problems when the power up.

First make sure you have used a "data" style cable to connect the two boosters together. data is a straight through cable wired pin 1 to pin 1. That being said, many DB150's are reverse phased to DCS100's. It's a known issue and the simplest fix is to swap the Rail A and Rail B wires at the DB150. Doing so will match phase between the two boosters. BTW, the large wire connecting the two "ground" terminals is sound advice.
