I have been thinking that I need to design a new plan of Casa Grande. In the plans are Arizona Grain, the oil distribution company, and a cotton mill. I am going to use the Walthers ADM grain elevator for Arizona Grain, New Jersey Intl. has a oil company, add in a few more tanks of random size, and the cotton mill is going to have to be scratch built. Fortunately, they look pretty straight forward, with few windows and corrugated metal exterior walls. I have yet to see a photo of one while they were served by the SP, but there is one on Thorton between 9th and Main and another in Maricopa.

Now I can get close-enough's or easy scratch-builds, but the 1939 art deco station is going to be difficult to scratch build. The prototype burnt down 2 years ago, and while there are a few good photos, the Borg even tore out the foundation. One option would be to use the Model Railroad Way-Back Machine. in 1939, the original Southern Pacific depot that was built around 1880, was similar to the SP Type 22, and American Model Builders has one in N Scale...oh the choices...

now other than too straight, any tweeking that you guys suggest? This section of the SP is all but straight for many miles

Is the lead to the switch & track for the red building long enough? It could be easily solved by shifting that complex about 6-12 inches to the left. That's really the only thing that jumps out at me.

Kaiser, while the plan has a goodfeel of the prototype, I based it off of the TimeWaster, er TimeSaver that John Allen came up with...I want a few limits to make it hard, PLUS I plan to have a pair of 4 ft staging casettes.

First it has taken me over a year to plan, tweak, tweak and refine my Slate Creek until I became completely satisfied with the final plan and operation potential..I plan on starting construction under the A/C when the temperature hits the 90s..

Here's the raw deal concerning your track plan and only you can answer the questions..

Are you completely satisfied with that track arrangement based on a modified *cough* *cough* timewaster and is there enough operation potential to keep you interested?
