Going on my first Amtrak trip on May 23rd, starting at Greensburg,PA to New York City for the weekend. It departs at 8:01am and gets to new york at 4:45pm. I Can't wait! I'l definately bring a camera and rolls of film with me. Never been Any farther north than Pittsburgh, so it'll be a first-time in a city of that size.
Pat, you have two of the best tour guides in the north right here. I can take you all over Manhattan and I will give you a mind boggling tour, and Russ and I can join forces to take you railroading around here. Hell, if you've never been on the subway, you are in for a real treat!!!!!!!!! If you care too, email Russ and I together, and let us know if you would like to have a couple of tour guides. You can also respond here if you wish too. Trust me when I say we can give a great tour, that will cost you pennies. Are you coming alone, with family or friends? OK, Pat. Let us know when you can! We'll do our best to help you if possible! You must see Ground Zero. A ride on the #7 train is a must. (Old foamers delight!) Oh, and coming in on Amtrak, you will have your first taste of New York City, via wild and wooley Penn Station. A couple of safety tips: Don't look into anyone's eyes. Keep your wallet out of your back pocket. Hold onto the hand rails while on a bus or train. Don't point at anything. If anyone stops you on the street just say, "Ain't got time, Guy". Even if it's a woman. LOL! And keep walking. Russ may have a better New York Greeting than I do, but my favorite is: WELCOME TO NEW YORK CITY! NOW GET OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, let us know what's up.
