    Hi Guys,

I've been playing around with some castings. Got tired of brass trucks with metal wheels shorting out on brass car bodies of my 1939 brass Hiawatha set. I also need some extra trucks for other projects. So I cast the truck side frame and glued it on a sanded down Con-Cor passenger truck. The wheelbase of the Con-Con truck is slightly larger but I think its hard to notice. Also I need to see if I can sand the casting a little thinner as the truck came out a little wide. Rolls good with Intermountain wheelsets.

Next up will be seat castings for Railway Classics Oly Hi coaches. I plan on doing both the original 52 seat and the 40 seat leg rest interior. Will post photos when finished.

Cool. I did something similar with Kato trucks when I removed the skirts on some of the CB&Q style Budd cars. The stock trucks were missing the upper half of the side frame details so I sanded off the rest of the details and glued American Limited truck side frames over them.

Nice job Bill!! Are those what they call the "Nystrom" type trucks that the Milwaukee Road had on the passenger cars?

Thanks. I think Karl Nystrom probably had a hand in these trucks but the classic Nystrom truck attributed to him were under the 1948 passenger cars.
