    Dear All

Can anyone recommend a good source of plans for 1938 era Hiawatha passenger cars?

I have a NPP Ho set of Hiawatha (incl. F-7 engine) and would like to add interiors to the passenger cars.

    Many thanks

There are bits and pieces of coverage here and there, however I do not recall anything truly comprehensive. Possibly the Jim Scribbins book "Hiawatha Story?"

A lot of people have been waiting for a group named "Milwaukee Shops" to release further volumes. They did one, covering the 1934-1935 Hiawatha. A big coffee table sized book. It is filled with photos and drawings. So the next one should be the same type of of content, but years have passed now.

    Thanks for that boxcab.

It does look like this is the book I need. I'v e-mailed them to ask if there is any chance the book will come out this year.

    Regards

    Hi RailroadUK:

Model Railroader Magazine had full color scale drawings of the 1939 Hiawatha. The issue is Jan. 1996. It included drawings of the interiors. You may be able to find back issues from online sellers.

    Andrew:

It is the same train, designed in 1938, but fully equipped in 1939. It consisted of the F-7 and ribsided cars. New equipment was put into service in 1937 but it was not a new train. The same locomotive was used as on the original and the cars only had two ribs on the sides. The new train had the F-7. Which one are you referring to?

    1938 Hiawatha

    Hi Tom

I'm talking about the 'new' train with the F-7 and ribbed cars.
Are these the cars which are in the magazine article, mentioned above, do you know?

    Hi Andrew:

Sorry about the confusion, the MR article is about the cars that you want. I just looked at the article to make sure. This was the all new train with the streamlined F-7 and the end car with the fins.

    Hiawatha 1938 plans

    Hi Tom

I contacted a seller on eBay who had a full set of 1996 mags, to ask if she would ship to the UK and what the cost would be. No reply though.

Maybe I could buy a photocopy of the article from you?

Still hope the Mailwaukke Shops book comes out this year, as I'll be after one (as no doubt will most people in this area)

    Regards

    Andrew
