last one, my JMRI Virtual Layout thingy. I can click different parts of the layout to control the turnouts.

I'm impressed with your work and modeling ability. I really like the control panel.

I only wish you had used a wider radius curve considering the equipment you are running on your railroad. I keep wondering what your layout would look like if you had built in N scale using 15 inch radius curves.

Kudos to you for turning out such a fine model railroad.

    Your layout looks good.

Wow. That is one cool layout. I wish I had something like that in my office but somehow I don't think the school district would appreciate it.

15" radius is okay if you're doing narrow gauge, trolley operations or N scale :)

    Otherwise, it's a no-no.

Impressive. But what happens if you get laid off?

    I own the joint :tb-cool:

From a functional standpoint the 15" curves have not been a problem. I've had a 3 loco consist with 32 cars going around it no problem. Not to say it doesn't derail on a turnout or something but the curves are never an issue. One of the 15" curves is on an incline too. I was told the worst thing about 15" curves are the looks. Well, I have one of them hidden by trees and the other behind foam. So its not a problem on my layout.

Actually 15" curves works quite well if you stay with 4 axle locomotives and no cars longer then 50'.

There's a lot of basic knowledge in the hobby that many has lost sight of over the years due to the ever present bombardment from "experts" that complicates the simple and overstates the obvious..

Its sad really to think the basics no longer apply as we gain knowledge when in all truth they still work.

And don't forget transition curves, easements.
