Contact: Danelle Wettstein Page Content: Canadian Pacific (CP) is celebrating 125 years of the Last Spike and is encouraging the public to get onboard its famous Steam Train to give back to the Children's Wish Foundation. As part of the festivities, CP's iconic 2816 steam train will embark on a tour this summer, celebrating our shared history with various Canadian communities. CP and the Children's Wish Foundation are offering the general public an opportunity to ride the 2816 Empress Steam Train, one of the last operating steam locomotives in North America.¤ All money raised from ticket sales will fund wishes to children with high-risk, life-threatening illnesses. Tickets range from $10-$50. There are a limited number of tickets available and payment may be made online by credit card. To purchase your tickets or to donate to Children's Wish Foundation visit their website at www.childrenswish.ca/cptrainride Those wishing to see CP's Empress 2816 Steam Train can catch it this week in Calgary and area. The Empress and its heritage fleet, which includes CP's museum car – a vintage baggage car transformed into an interactive museum of railway history, will be on display: July 1 from 12-4pm across from Fort Calgary July 2 from 2-6pm & July 3 from 10-3pm at Banff Train Station in Banff What started in 2002 as an employee-driven water bottle recycling program has evolved into a rewarding relationship between CP and the Children's Wish Foundation.
