I see you are using track templates for turnouts. Do you ever vary the template to make the turnout fit better in a particular place?

Jason: This is from the website: That may be Fast Tracks website. [edit] That was "hand laid track . com"
Growing up in Aurora, I still can't get used to that being the "UP" Geneva sub. I must say that is a nice job on the turnouts.
I purchased a #8 and a #10 assembly jigs from fast tracks and have been using them almost exclusively. The double track main line is all #10 with the yards and secondary track using #8. One of my main goals for the layout is not to have any situations where, due to space restrictions, I had a need to build a turnout to fit a particular place. From what I 've seen on the UP Geneva Sub, turnouts are prebuilt, stored near the location where they are to be installed and then installed when they get a chance. Also, the mainline portion of the turnout is always straight, which I have followed on the layout. So, while I understand and admire the need to build the turnouts to fit a particular location on a model railroad, this is not what I am shooting for on the Geneva Sub. That being said, I do have three curved turnouts that I built or will build without the assembly jigs. These serve the engine facilities at the Global III intermodal yard. Daryl
