We're planning on a Saturday trip to see this. ------------------------------- Mike Grant It's never too late to have a happy childhood!! ------------------------------- http://mikesshopping.com
Really wanted to make it this year, but I'm afraid I'll be down in Alabama. It's just too far to transport everything.
I won't be there...too far of a commute. But hope to see some updates and whatnot from the members that are there.
I'll be going and I plan on taking LOTS of pictures! You can see a gallery of my photos from last year's show on Flickr: Amherst Train Show 2013 Tips: It's a big show, spread across four buildings, so wear comfortable shoes. Take granola bars or energy bars as the lines for snacks & food can get really long. The modeling is amazing, take the time to look at the detail in the models and layouts. You'll meet tons of really nice people who are as excited about trains as you are. Don't be shy and say hi! Cheers, Mike
When I lived in New Hampshire, I would start saving my money for this show in August. After first moving to Illinois in the late 1990's, my ex-wife and I would fly back to NH to visit and go to the show. I got to go again in 2011 and 2012. This is the one really big train show I really miss and although Galesburg still ranks up as my favorite, this one keeps getting bigger and better. Also as a B&M modeler, I'm treated with northeast specific items and I don't feel out of place wearing my Pats jacket and Red Sox hat! Bring money, good shoes, and a camera you lucky dogs!
Hmm, are you willing to listen to "Car Talk" with Click and Clack, drink Dunkin Donuts coffee, and listen to my New England accent start slipping out? That would be a fun trip from the midwest, about 16-18 hours from our central location.
Hmmm. I would still have to get this past the Administration of Domestic Affairs and Homeland Security, i.e., THE GIRLFRIEND.
Got my wristband tickets today. Weather forecast for that weekend is a bit sketchy, but I don't put faith in a long range forecast. Joe D
Umm... reports and photos might be little premature being as the show is this coming weekend (Jan 25-26)..........or; if I'm wrong then boy, did I miss my train... and the show... hey, did anyone man our booth... oh man, am I going to be in trouble when the boss finds out... yesh !!!!!!!!!! LOL
Oops. As was noted above, acquisition of wristband tickets, I got a wrong impression, thinking it was being held the 18th and 19th.
I'll be there with my fiance, camera and tablet in hand. I'll try to get to the vendors. What room will they be in? Anyone want to meet up please contact me: steve.f.goodenoughATgmail.com (replace 'AT' with '@') We will be arriving at the: "Holiday Inn- Enfield" on Friday afternoon. Thanks! Steve

I'll be there on Saturday with my, (now), fiance, camera and tablet in hand. It is my 4th visit and her 2nd. iF If anyone would like to cross paths please do get in touch: steve.f.goodenoughATgmail.com (replace: 'AT' with '@') I'll send you my phone info. We will be arriving by bus Friday at the: "Holiday Inn- Enfield". Rooms are only $89 and they have a shuttle. Note: For those who don't know me I have visual limitations and don't drive. We will be taking a 'shuttle provided by the hotel to and from the show. Questions: Is there one hall that has just manufactures such as Atlas or Rapido? Somehow I seem to miss them each time. Is there something I absolutely must see? Anyplace in particular to eat in the area? Thanks! Steve and Laura
OOOPS! Guess I need to pay attention a little better.:uhoh: But hey, I'm a railroader. I don't even know what day it is half the time!
Olde age, eyes and mind - Ooops, seems like I 'double' posted but I could not find the first post when I checked this morning. Thomas the Tank Layouts? I have been um, er, 'directed' by my loves 4yo grandson to find any 'Thomas' based layouts. His current 'layout' now occupies my living room. He wanted to come so I promised in 5 years when he is nine. @Point353 - Thanks for the links! @Everyone - aren't you glad I'm not driving?
