Here is a Video i took as i rode my bike across the HTT Bridge at night. Trail Ambassador told me there are sometimes more than 100 people visiting in the weekend evenings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Y-iNftIuWg&feature=relmfu
Nice layout and video. I got pics of mine somewhere in TB lol.. As for the Kate Shelley meet. I will be there..
Now that this thread has resurfaced, how about a review of the Kate Shelley meet? I never did hear how it went this year. I mean last year. Jim
Hey its been awhile. I have been busy and working on my train board. The Kate Shelley show was a success in my eyes. I walked out with a Kato Mike for forty bucks. A con cor Kato S-2 for fifty. And four Shinohara curved switches for twenty bucks. There was a table that was an absolute gold mine for anyone modeling the sixties. I also met a fine gentleman that is a Milwaukee Road historian!
On the 26th of this month there is a train show/ swap meet in Central Iowa at the High School. Just an FYI, Shaun
So did we ever get a head count of N scalers in Iowa? You can add one more to the list in April. We'll be moving to the Des Moines area at the end of March.
Oh I am sure there are more than the couple who have posted things in N-scale. I was hoping to that a few might have said hello. But I guess they are just to buried in there hobby. Lol Or they are not ones who like to share..
Sorry that I didn't see this sooner....there are quite a few N Scalers in Central Iowa including myself (sans layout at current thanks to a lack of space and abundance of employment). Des MoiNTrak meets currently once a month and sets up periodically from time to time. Right now we are in the process of getting a new website up and running and I soon as I have the URL I can post it with meeting details.
Its good to know there is a club here. I have sorta been looking for one out of curiosity. It seems this area is flooded with HO modelers and larger.
Here's the club website URL....looks like I will need to talk with the webmaster so that it shows up in the search engines. Right now we are looking for new meeting locations and should be meeting the second Thursday of March at the Urbandale Public Library instead of the College Avenue Christian church where we used to meet. https://sites.google.com/site/desmointrak/
No specific area/location for the modules or the trains that are run. Some members have NTrak, some TTrak, some have both and some have neither but bring trains to run.
ANOTHER ITEM FROM AN EARLIER POST HERE: For as long as I can remember the Kate Shelley Division meet has been the first weekend of November at the United Community School between Ames and Boon. The local (Des Moines) show is typically March/April at Meredith School in Des Moines.
I was at both last year. I found much better deals at the Kate Shelley show. Was disappointed at the des Moines show. I have seen the club layout. They even tested a locomotive for me before I bought it.
