Our order numbers are slowly creeping up. As soon as MT gives us images, we will post them. In the meantime, we want to keep people excited about this project. A reminder, you can order at http://www.specialruns.com and if you don't want to order using PayPal, please message me. Charlie
Anyone know about how long these cars were in service for? Tempted to get one, but then I need some older power/cars to run a train with...but give me an excuse
I'm waiting for the launching of international orders. Please leave some for the guys overseas! Hiroshi/http://riogrande.blog.so-net.ne.jp/
You can order now with the stipulation that when the cars come out that you pay whatever additional shipping is required. When they ship I will take all international orders to the post office and find out what they will cost beyond the cost of shipping already charged. Then, I will send you a PP invoice for the additional amount. We have several international orders already. Charlie
You folks are probably tired of numbers flashing across the screen if you've had your TV on during the last 24 hours but here's one more: 130. Our latest order puts us at 130 orders. This is just 20 cars away from the halfway point. This is November 7 and my goal is to get to 150 by the end of November. I don't know how long it will be before we have images to show you but we all know that Micro-Trains knows what they are doing so as soon as that is available, we will share. It may be too lofty of a goal but I would like to be at 200 orders by New Years Eve. That would mean that this project will have roughly broken even and then we will have 100 cars with which to turn a profit from this project. I know that some folks are waiting on images before they order and that's fine. Remember, there will only ever be 300 of these and 130 are now spoken for so if you want one of the first ever TrainBoard Special Run cars, click here. We believe that these will be delivered by Spring 2013 (based on Micro-Trains forecast). Thanks again, Charlie
One of the guys in our NTRAK club wants one. I ordered another for him so that it can ship together with my order.
We're up to 133 folks. Again, our goal is to get to 150 before the end of the month. I don't know if that is possible but we will try. As stated earlier, as soon as the artwork comes in, we will post it! Charlie
Did you contact some magazines where they can place your information? Like at the end of N-Scale where they list what people are working on.
No. I have not read a train magazine for a long time, but it sounds like a good idea. Sent from my Motorola Electrify using Tapatalk 2
I spoke with Micro-Trains today and they said that we will have pictures around the first of December (give or take a few days). Just an FYI for those who are waiting (like me). It will be exciting. Charlie
How about a hint: Fallen Flag, Shortline, Incentive per Diem, current road name, and what type of box no roofwalks, outside braced, double door, etc. I need a bit more data as not a collector , but want to use it... Steve NYandW
Just a little suggestion. How about making a quantity available when ordering. It might entice someone to order 2 or 3 instead of just 1 at a time. That is unless it is already there and I just missed it.
When you click on the yellow button to order, on the next page you can select the quantity that you want. Several people have ordered more than one. As stated earlier, if ordering more than one, shipping charges in excess of $5.95 will be refunded at the time of shipping. Charlie
Charlie, Im in Australia and I note that the special runs site says US only but the info above suggests that international buyers can get in on the act and just agree to pay the addiitonal cost in postage. Im assuming the international buys just ignore the US only and order away?
Yes, the "US Only" is more of a disclaimer but we will accept international orders if you agree to pay whatever additional shipping is necessary to get the package to you. We will, at the time of shipping, contact you to inform you of whatever additional charge is necessary to get it there. Thanks! Charlie
