No problem Doug. You know I would never censor a comment from you. I am quite pleased with how it's turning out. It's about time to clean all the track and run a few trains. I need to add some turnout controls and feeder wires. It is coming along though.
Golden Spike Laid!! I have completed the trackwork on my extension and connected it to the existing layout. Here are some pics. This is where the tracks will cross a city street over plate girder bridges. The bases for the bridges are .60 styrene that is attached using the same adhesive caulk I used elsewhere. I plan to scratchbuild the bridges. These will be ballasted bridges so the base will not be seen in the finished product. I am now hooking up feeder wires and working on turnout control. But, I also plan to run a few trains to test out the trackwork.
Turnout Controls Finally, I have finished installing my manual turnout controls for the new extension. I use minature slide switches to throw the turnout and route power to the frog. Here are the pictures to show the installation. You can read a deatiled description of how I installed them at my blog. http://southviewlines.blogspot.com
