I have started on a new expansion project for my N scale Southview Lines. I am adding a new pennisula that will add about 16 feet of mainline. To help document construction, I created a new blog. If you would like to follow along, go to http://southviewlines.blogspot.com. I hope to post new updates once a week. I have already posted the first few. Stop by and take a look.
Neat plan, I always hated it when I had to pry up track and relay it. Best of luck with the progress!
Me too. But, I don't mind when the track that I am re-laying will be a big improvement to operation and functionality. Thanks for taking a look.
Thanks for the compliment. I plan to update the blog at least once a week. However, it is HOT right now in Texas and the layout is in the garage so I am sure that progress may be a little slow. I'll try though.
Thanks. I am proud of my elevator too. It's entirely scratch-built and I think it turned out good. I like it anyway. Thanks for looking.
Photos!! I thought it would be better if I posted the photos from the blog directly in this thread. You can find out more at http://southviewlines.blogspot.com Thanks.
This weekend I built my backdrop for the extension. Read about it at http://southviewlines.blogspot.com Here's the pictures.
SVL Extension: Track Centerlines I was able to draw my trackplan full size on the layout extension and see how things fit. I did have to modify the plan slightly in two places but all in all, it went according to plan. Take a look at the pics below and read more at my blog http://southviewlines.blogspot.com
Neat work..... ....I know that this is going to be a fine layout when completed. My eyes are peeled as I intently follow your progress, sir.
Thank you. I am pleased with how it is turning out so far. I will keep the updates coming as I get more done.
Mike,,, Great job! nice work on the benchwork,, I like how u did the backdrop.Keep up the great work. adios for now WYT
Wyatt / Boilerman, Thanks for the kind words. I like how this extension is coming along. Track laying will be just around the corner. I can't wait. As for scenery, this new extension will be primarily urban city. Large warehouses will dominate the scene. When I get to that part, I will probably build some temporary cardboard structures and replace them one by one as the actual structures get built. Thanks to everyone for looking.
