O.K. here's a couple of mine.. Hey guys, More SP.. C-30-6... And a C-40-4.. Hope Y'all like 'em, Wolf
Cabeese on the P&PU in N-Scale: Cars in the first pic were painted and decaled by the late Jerry Reinman, who also did the only SW on my layout that is actually painted in P&PU colors. I saw the prototype P&PU 708 on P&PU switching jobs much more often than the caboose, especially during cold weather switching. I believe the caboose may have been used more as a tool shed for track maintenance, because I mostly only saw it parked in the East Peoria Yard with other MOW equipment and around work sites, and don't recall ever seeing it on the end of a string of freight cars. The cars in the 2nd pic were purchased at an estate sale in the 1990s. I put the decals on. I found this CR caboose at a train meet for $6. Perfect for the CR freight running between Peoria and Hillery Yard near Danville.
Well these are both Z scale, but are completely scratchbuilt and I put some time into them. They are my favorite cabeeses ; ) Drew up the pieces with CAD, had the sides laser engraved/cut. Etched the brass myself. Even turned out better than his big (N) brother: And for when I wanna run diesels:
Finished this WP caboose jusy last night. Built from a Model Power baywindow. I removed and lowered the bays to make it more considtent with the WP. I weathered the ends before I added the detail. With the detail and declals added I finished the weathering and added the windows with Testors Widow maker last.
Nice caboose. I am looking to get a couple like this. Where did you get it or did you strip and repaint for the SP? Thanks for any info. Spwolf, I saw your pics also and hope that you will share your source also. Thanks.
Where did you get this caboose or did you build it yourself? I sure would appreciate any info on this unit. Nicely done.
Well, it sure ain't as good as Rasputen's - took the lettering off an Atlas Clinchfield caboose and threw on the C&O decals - didn't have a lot to choose from...
Oh YEA! keep the cabeese rollin'!!!! Here is the last caboose I've done. Custom painted Atlas with "Axy dent" safety logo on it.
Here are a couple of my Trainworx caboose kits. These are etched brass sides and details for the Atlas cupola caboose. Here's the kit. Erik
Another Grande caboose, another 01400-class, but this one was a laser-cut styrene sides kit on an Atlas caboose:
Cabeese This is a model of a SOO hack that is currently toiling at Havelock, Ontario as a van trailing the daily mine shunt... A classic CP Rail rebuilt van..... Tried and true, the good, ol stand by..... A rare CP center cab passes a PGE hack.....
PGE hacks I custom painted that van and an end cupola in the yellow scheme - but for awesome PGE cabeese I went with Dr. Caboose - Marty Coil and commisioned him to create these two early PGE wooden wonders.... Based on two actual hacks; we slightly updated the liveries with the moosehead herald and I now run these on my PGE barge service; along with the converted troop sleeper behind. A couple of RS3's and RS 18's serve the barge.... Marty Coil is a wizard of wooden vans....
