Right now there is just one 6ft long florecent light with two tubes above it and I have a small spotlight with an energy saver bulb, (Those squiggly looking ones), that I move around till I like the way the shadows/shading looks.
And in honor of your appreciation Mike, I have a special picture of one of your amazing locomotives running along the coast at Pinole.......
Unique to NJT. Made by M-K. They got GP-40's & F-45's & put them together in 1987. Designated GP-40-FH-2 NJT & Metro-North's west of Hudson's fleet are the only ones around. NJT #'s 4130-4144. MNRR 4184-4189 They were rebuilt a couple of years ago & re-numbered. A couple of NJT's were leased to AMT in Montreal. While a couple were turned in & made into new switchers.
Thanks Jerry. Jim Hinds of Richmond Controls spent almost a year with the engine to get all the lighting effects right. It has working alternating strobes, directional headlight, red marker when in reverse, constant numberboard lts. It also won 1st place for modern diesel at the NSC convention in Portland Or. Scott Lupia did the kitbash of an F-40 & A GP-40, painting & decaling. Jerry DeBene finished the model by super detailing, added couplers & fix body damage that was done by a fall & cats. It was then sent to Jim, who sent it to a friend of his to install the effects. I didn't get to see the engine until Portland. It went back with Jim & he had to twik it. I got it about 6 months later. I had him send it to Jerry to test it, 1st. That's when Jerry took those great pictures.
Old age setting in and was having problems with my eyes modeling lately. Hard to focus for long. But a new pair of bi-focals and I am all set to finish what I started a couple weeks ago.
Today after church and with the help of my new glasses, , I got all the fence done, a little more around the 'new' track expansion into the plant, and the concrete retaining wall in place. Will get pictures posted this week after a get some batteries for the camera.
Checked retaining wall tonight and it set beautifully. Theres a slight curve where its at and it set almost pefectly to it. Also added more piping to hide things, and make the eye believe theres alot going on. Didnt get a chance to get batteries yet, but I will.
Sheesh! I've read through the whole thread and am just blown away. Jerry,,,you have done an excellent job on your layout. I am originally from the Bay area and I think you have really captured it's essence. I am moving in a month so I can't start my layout yet,,,but I hope I can show half the talent you have shown. Keep up the good work and please keep the pics coming.:teeth:
