Another of Sierra 28 This one was by the Sierra roundhouse. Looked like they were getting it ready to paint it for display. #200 in this thread!
These Bulleid class Q1 0-6-0's were considered ugly by most people, but I have to admit I quite like them! They are a very solid looking compact locomotive, and if there is nothing that needs to be accessed on the boiler, who needs a footplate anyway?! Note how the number, 33026 has been cleaned to apparently show C26, it's original number! At rest at Guildford MPD on Sunday 30th May 1965.
Oliver Bulleid was a bit of a rebel, I think! But here is one of his superb pacifics at Exeter St. Davids.
The Bulleid pacifics shown in an earlier post (affectionately known as "spam-cans"), were rebuilt during BR days with outside cylinders and the casing removed. A very handsome locomotive was revealed

These were taken by my brother on May 22, 1999 at Reno, NV as the 844 and 3985 headed west to the Sacramento Rail Fair. This was the trip where the diesel quit in the tunnel near Donner and the steam engines had to work hard to keep the train moving.
OK, here is one from me from my trip to Georgetown this weekend. [ March 14, 2006, 12:47 PM: Message edited by: Stourbridge Lion ]
I visited Turtle Bay Museum today and found this old two truck Lima Shay on display. Also had a couple of log cars behind the Shay. http://www.railimages.com/albums/gilmanabar/adt.sized.jpg[/IMG]
Here is the static display of Shay #8 just outside the old Georgetown Depot. [ March 14, 2006, 12:48 PM: Message edited by: Stourbridge Lion ]
