Awww shucks! Eastern MT has a look about it out in the "boonies" that is just, well it speaks to my soul. And Homestake has those really spooky looking rocks, I haven't attempted those..............yet! Thanks guys!
Today is a day that will live in ..... hilarity...... Visiting my brother and had to torture him. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
Oh man!!!! Just wrong!! I take a trip to a wedding out of town and my layout has been desecrated!!! Believe you me, getting even will be sweet!!! And an effigy must die!
Back on the third, I ran this special with an express boxcar, must've had a diseasel salesman aboard.......
And so yesterday I finally had a bit of time to spend running trains with my brother on my layout. It was fun! We ran a few of his on special diversions and excursions...
I swear to God. This poor 4-8-4 tried Harry Carrey. It's been derailing left and right non- stop since I have been here. It's pretty frustrating really. All I said was "Uncle Pete Sucks!!! " And this thing blew a long whistle.. Sped up! And took a dive off of the layout.. Whistling all the way down. Damn.. Who knew she was so sensitive. Sheesh...... Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
It must have really broke Badlands heart to see that crash with the 4-8-4. Such a long lonesome while all the way down. ( I swear I saw tears coming from the cylinders!) Poor thing...... So he wiped away a tear. (Only a half cry cause it was U.P. after all) And got this silver thing out and his tear and snot and quivering voice slowly went away. There was a big smile as it moved down the track. Some excitement to see the cars light up. And almost child like when he saw people inside the cars.. Hmmmm.. His first diesel? More to come? Who knows. Little Miss Ruby Red Shoes likes it alot! Lol. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
Aaaand so. We went to the Spud Valley Model R show and swap meet in Fargo, ND over the weekend. It was a good show and was fairly well attended. Yes, the sweet lady in the below photo smooozed me into purchasing a, uggh, OWWCH!, diseasel!! However, the NPBH shops will be fabricating an appropriate ans much better locomotive to pull the train with! Something Aeolus based, out of a 4-6-2, 4-6-4 or something............ And a nice little NP steam!!
And in payment for his abuse! He gets a new Loksound installed in his FVM 4-4-2. Here're a couple of pics, it's a fairly straight forward install. The headlight LED was fried though, and something in the wires is open to the LED, so that will get fixed today also... The new decoders, Partially disassembled. The tender body is both delicate and hard to remove, Time to do wire swapping and soldering, Shell with a tad more weight and some speaker foam. The foam really enhances the sound,
Do the Hiawatha instructions include parts diagram/numbers?? I'm in desperate need of tender electrical pick ups for mine!! Ran into issues with them as soon as I installed the plug in decoder! Email to Fox Valley have never been answered!
Unfortunately. They do not. But Alan has figured out the Hiawatha I believe. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
There is an exploded diagram of the physical assembly, that's all. So, I just went the full monty and removed all the boards and hardwired everything. It worked! Will post it a bit later.
Got that FVM running that evening, then made a video just because I could! It made up for the diseasels running around the layout!! Of course, a little steam therapy had to come into play.!! The Yellowstone pulled a freight in causing the Silver Streak to have to hold! YES!! Followed by gcav17's Hiawatha set,
