Just received AFT Tool Car !!! Only complaint is lid on MT jewel case installed upside down. THINK I can fix that !!! Love the warning that came with this car. "Do not attempt to open. She's glued together" !!! Boxcab, I know it's been a while, but I need to borrow the banana again for this one !!!
Oh, I know this already. I was just contrasting the difference between the 4 axle flats and the 6 axle ones.
Since I'm running a freelanced railroad, the Freelance Greenlight Intermodal Containers from S&R Models , I took a fancy too. Special runs from JT Company and MicroTrains (New Run Just Released) - Quite nice. 13 Containers in all for $100.00 US a good deal!
I model N scale, but I just bought a used Lionel O scale Glacier Route set. As a baby boomer, one reason I loved Christmas was all the department stores had Lionel trains running in their windows. Even one dentist's office had one.
Leased power arrived in its new home - an Alton and Southern MP15 #1522 Shell used to replace my CPR MP15 which had an untimely demise during a brief trip to the concrete floor. Thanks again @JoeTodd
I pulled the trigger on the full set of 20th Century Limited passenger train from Kato. It should be here in a week or so.
Tangent Models has some really nice HO items like this tank car. It would make the Atlas offerings in N scale look 'unworthy'. These Tangent Models are pricey though. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
So true, but the Atlas N tank cars is all I can find that is worthy in N... unless someone can direct me elsewhere!
I wish Atlas would release some more of their long, N scale propane tank cars. I think they were 33Kgal. But yes, they seem to have the best looking tank cars in N scale, and the widest variety. I'm on the fence about the BLI Cryogenic Tank Cars. Not really sure if they are worth the $$. They look nice in the photos though.
The Cryogenic cars are really, really nice. Street price is about $30 each which is dirt cheap when you consider that the crappy Bachmann tank cars are $20 each.
I really like the 11,000 gal. Atlas tank cars a lot. They are at least as nice as the 10,000 gal. Micro-trains tanks and on par with the ready to run 8,000 gal. Intermountain Railway tank cars. Atlas has a bunch of different types of tank cars available... all very well done and 'worthy'. I have no complaints about the availability of N scale tank cars. The Broadway Limited cryogenic tank cars are very well done as well... I have the three varities they offer... strictly 1960's through 1980's... so almost too 'modern' for my fleet. I pass on lots of tank cars, and other rolling stock, because they are outside of my general modeling era which ends in early 1970's. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
I will have a look at the BLI Cryogenic - WOW $113 CDN incl taxes that's a little over the top for me. I'll stick with my current fleet of Atlas tanks for now. I'm really in the market for some 50ft boxcars. I think it's going to wait until I can get to a swap meet once this Virus thing is done.. we've done well in our "Health Zone" the two-month lockdown may come to an end on Feb 9.
Yikes $113 Cdn is steep... I paid about $80 for three different models from a discount hobby dealer which had a special coupon deal last summer. I just wanted to have one of each version. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
Just talking to a buddy who has a few and really likes them. He bought them a few years back so even he is YIKES!
Just got the email notification, CNR Rapido GMD-1 and GE Dash 8-40CM will arrive on Monday. I'll post some pictures then. Looking forward to activating Functions 21 through 24 to hear the Doug & Bob McKenzie from SCTV the Great White North. So I had to go and listen to one of my favourites- "Up Here - In Canada". If you've seen it my apologies, otherwise I hope you get a chuckle. Admins if this is inappropriate please remove
