Thanks Joe. I should have recognized it from the bridge cable reels. Guess the ole memory is on vacation or self isolating without me.
I know what you mean, some days are like that with me. Nothing big just little things. It's been like that all my life. Joe
Third. Wayne Stock Yard and meat processing plant on module 06. Yard is interchangeable with oil depot. Joe
MFA Grain Mill on module 04. Mill is interchangeable with ice house. This is a Walthers kit with add on silos that was assembled several years ago. Needs some repairs and attached to base. Joe
Today I worked on the Frisco Ft Smith Depot and decided to use a different type of styrene so recut all of the walls. Went ahead and assembled them after carefully looking to make sure the nibbler would be able to cut out doors and windows. Also cut roofs and have the flat one on the two story just sitting in place. Have four more pieces to cut and build the outcrop on the south end. Will order doors and windows on Monday morning. Tomorrow will layout the openings but not cut them until I get the parts. The second project was the first coat of paint some of the 3D ice blocks I got from Sumner. Thank you Sir! Here's the photos I've been using to build from. Northwest corner. South end. North end. Edit: added last three photos of the depot. Joe
This afternoon I got all of the doors and windows marked on the depot and ready to cut the openings along with painting the ice blocks white. Will order the doors and windows tomorrow morning and buy some gloss medium to finish the ice blocks. Also made ten more telegraph poles. Tonight Cynthia and I are going to make more trees. Can't have too many trees. Joe
Yesterday afternoon I cut out five windows and a door for the parts that I already have. The other doors and windows are in the mail from Georgia and Sumner is making 3D printed columns. This afternoon will cut roof panels and the outcrop on the one story south end along with the concrete two story wall caps. Also going to paint gloss medium on the ice blocks. Joe
Today's progress was carving the foam on module 04, applied ground foam and install trees that Cynthia made. The second project was cutting the other roof panels for the depot. The columns that Sumner 3D printed are in the mail from Utah. Thank you Sir!!! I have three types of gloss, Pearl Medium, puzzle varnish and clear nail polish to try on the ice blocks. Joe
Very nice! Just add a backdrop to complete the scene. On a side note, how were ice facilities fed with ice? boxcars on another track? Is a load dock something you'd see?
Hemi, the blue building makes the ice blocks and then transfers them to the loading platform where refrigerator cars are waiting. Joe
I received the doors and windows for the depot yesterday afternoon along with the columns that Sumner made for me. Thank you Sir!!! Spent most of today cutting out the openings and painting. The depot will be ready for final assembly in the morning. Joe
This afternoon and evening I installed the doors and windows along with the wall caps. Tomorrow afternoon will build the overhead structure on the north end and install the columns under it. Then the roof and out crop on the south end will be the last parts needed for assembly and then the depot will be ready for final paint. Hopefully will be finished by Tuesday. Joe
I was only able to work on the depot for about a hour Monday evening. Did make a little progress on the north end overhead structure, got most of the pieces cut. It's kind of tricky with all of the pieces and how the columns fit. Tuesday afternoon will assemble it and the roof on the south end. Here's a photo of the columns that will be used. Thank you Sumner!!! Joe
