Got to spend most of the day working on the depot and finished the wall caps and overhead structure on north end. Also made eight pedestals for the columns but still need to attach brick pattern styrene on them.

Here's a photo of one column set up for your enjoyment. There will be eight altogether.

Made good progress today, attached the columns to overhead structure and installed the pedestals to columns. After that set up one part of the roof on south end.

Tomorrow afternoon will make some adjustments to the columns and pedestals along with work on the roof. Then the depot will be ready for final paint and dull coat.

I finished the roof on the south end and awning in front but will have to build the outcrop tomorrow. Added some trim in front and the north end and did a few adjustments to the columns and pedestals.

Should be able to finish the whole project tomorrow afternoon or early evening.

I finished the assembly except gluing the outcrop on. It got too dark outside to paint the south end roof. So it's going to be tomorrow morning when the paint shop opens, my patio.

Looking forward to seeing the depot open for business.

Here's the depot all taped up for paint or getting ready for the fumigation crew. lol It reminds me of a house across the street that had a huge blue balloon covering it for about a week.

I got everything painted on the depot this evening but don't like how the outcrop looks, it's a height issue. Tomorrow morning going to make a new one with a window instead of a door. The green used on south end roof and awning is too dark so will give them a wash with olive. Maybe some day I will finish this project. It's been a challenge at several points, lot of small parts and big fingers. Have enjoyed it though and that's what it's all about.

My next project is to finish the oil depot. I bought a one inch diameter dowel rod about a week ago for the smaller tanks and need to build a guard shack. Shouldn't take too long to finish.

I got the outcrop roof installed and gave it a wash of olive along with the main roof and awning. The only things left to do is install window glazing and add support poles to the awning. After that glue the depot to the base and call it finished.

Later this evening will cut the dowel rod for the smaller tanks for the oil depot.

Thank you Hemi and all you guys!!! Your support and responses are greatly appreciated.

I gave the roof and awning another wash of olive to tone down the bright green showing through. Will post photos when I finish. Just now got caught up with the days activities and ready to work on the depot to attach window glazing and support poles for the awning. Don't want to glue the depot to the base at this time so it will be easier to install lights at a later date.

The Ft Smith Depot is open for business.

I attached glazing to all of the doors and windows and just finished installing the support poles to the awning. Some of the poles and columns are leaning a bit and will straighten them up when I glue the depot to it's base.

This has been a really fun project to work on. It took longer than I thought it would though. Started on May 29th and worked just about every day.

While waiting for the glue to dry on the depot I cut several small tanks for the oil depot and gave them their first coat of paint. My can of paint is all gone so will buy another can this afternoon to finish the tanks.

Will work on the oil depot later today, have a guard shack and pipelines and office to build.

Just finished installing some ice blocks to the ice house loading platform on module 04. Thank you Sumner for making the ice blocks!

Getting ready to work on the overhead lights valence. It's a nice day outside and the temperature isn't to bad yet. Hope to hang it from the ceiling later this evening.

I have them on my site now and...

    http://1fatgmc.com/RailRoad/3D-Printer/page-20.html

... will try and get them up on my thingiverse account latter today.

You did a better job painting them than I did. Any info on your technique that I could add to my page would be nice when you find the time. You could post it here or PM it to me,

Sumner, I sprayed the ice blocks with rattle can white and then painted them with clear nail polish to make them shine.

After I finished the Ft Smith Depot I decided to take a break for a couple of days.

This afternoon I built two extensions for the overhead lights valence. The total length is 130.5 inches and 16 inches wide. Have some hooks and chain to hang it from the ceiling.

I'm going to build a small time saver HO layout and store it on top of the valence.

This afternoon I built the frame for modules 01, 02 and 03 overhead lights valence. Still waiting for someone to help me hang the 130 inch section, will try my neighbor friend tomorrow morning.

    20200625_191101.jpg

Also played chess with the small tanks to see which arrangement looks best.
