Just got in some ezline (fine) for my power lines and installed on the layout. A little CA glue at each insulator and it went together relatively easy. The hardest part was being able to see the line in the poor lighting conditions of my basement.
Nice job! Is the layout inside some kind of case? I see some framing in some of the pictures. Can you post a wider angle picture if it's in a case?
Thanks MK. Yes that is a coffee table layout. Pic quality isn't the best due to lighting and cell camera but here you go:
Thanks again MK. The coffee table part was an afterthought. Between little children and dust issues I decided to build a table case for it to minimize maintenance and make it semi-functional to keep the wife happy. Apparently though the train track table doesn't really appeal to her sensibilities so it gets office duty which is fine by me
Some bachmann new driver wheels + traction tires and tender truck spare parts to see if I can get my B&O running again, to actually be able to pull cars and not spin in place. Turns out I have the older metal gear version so had to place another order for the mating worm. It's ok, can actually pull 5 cars but still slips on the 1% grades.
I wonder if I worked on any of those Boeing 747's, neat aircraft, altogether I worked on 156 in about two years. There is a good write-up on Wikipedia, check it out. Joe
Received these 9x12mm speakers to install/upgrade my fleet. The mating surface of the resonator chamber has to be tapered by filing to fit the speaker and then glued on but the sound is impressive for such a small speaker. I also picked up some ESU dropin decoders for my older atlas loos and they work well but a little disappointed that aux1 and 2 are already occupied with surface mounted pico LEDs. I thought of using them for the forward and reverse LEDs but they are too far from the light piping to work. Need to get a fine tip for my soldering iron to remove those and wire in a remote light.
I decided to take a leap of faith that I hope I don't regret; I pre ordered an Intermountain Western Pacific FP7A with DCC and sound. I missed out on the first release and my pre ordering luck with IM isn't great. I have a WP FT set on order that was cancelled and I have been on a search for the FP7 for years. I was even willing to settle for the elusive Model Power loco. Of course, I want 805A!
Received in mail 2 L&N 2 Bay Covered Hoppers by Deluxe,1 N&W 50' boxcar by Intermountain, 3 PRR 3 Bay Covered Hoppers, 3 Peavey & Multi Foods Airslide Covered Hoppers by Delaware Valley, 1 SP 3 Bay Covered Hopper, 3 Conrail Airslide Covered Hoppers. Sold 2 of the Conrail cars to a friend that is a big Conrail fan. Most people on board will know where was ordered from. Went to swap next day and bought no equipment. Not much N Scale.
