I was given a Christmas Gift Card from my son with ORDERS that it was ONLY for Trolley Stuff. So, on Thursday I took delivery of a lovely Bowser PCC. Hey, whadya gonna do. Ya gotta keep peace in the family. Besides, I think the PCC was the finest design of the trolley era.
For me, no models the past couple weeks, but! A copy of Stauffer's classic Pennsy Power (I somehow didn't have this one yet!) and a copy of B&O Cabooses: Photos and Diagrams by Dwight Jones, both for very good prices from ebay!
I found a great deal on cars for an excursion train. Now all I need to do is get decoders for my heisler and shay.
Picked up a Utah Railway engine I didn’t have today. Now I just wish they do GP38’s in the Utah Railway paint scheme.
I recently purchased this OO gauge Hornby Tornado, part of their value focused Railroad range, knowing that it needs additional detail to make it more accurate. It was only about $65 and I wanted another project! I'm in the process of purchasing the non-US detailed parts from the UK, etch name plates, lamp brackets, etc. It runs smooth, but I'm replacing the three-pole with a 5-pole for added smooth slow speed. It will get an ESU Loksound from across the pond with a Keep-alive capacitor eventually. I came across a BBC special on Tornado and fell in love. I became interested in UK steam and decided that I can make some room for English motive power. Flying Scotsman, Mallard, some MK-1 coaches, should make for some interesting sights next to Union Pacific big steam.
Since I lived in Alaska and my in-laws rode these on a trip to Seward from Anchorage, I had to have two of these! Only took a picture of one! Rick Jesionowski
Picked up a couple batteries and a charger for my DCC throttles. I have a total of 5 throttles but three are utility throttles that won’t see much use.
Hey Kevin I just finish building the Lauston Shipping company. Great kit' comes with tons of parts to build it many ways and enough to scratch build another one.
Picked this up from that online train show where one must fight for several days to get what they want. I have one more coming sometime. Not sure when. Hasn’t been shipped yet. It’s part pf my rolling stock modern upgrade program.
More stuff came woohoo! A structure kit. I’m only going to use a very small portion of this kit however. Another coil car from the online train show, a gondola load a truck, and two trailers that need to be built.
Another pair of F&C resin kits; this time a Pennsy X26 boxcar and a Lehigh Valley "wrong way" boxcar, along with something completely different: I wanted a 2nd HO/OO loco to test with, and as this one was quite cheap and comes with a DCC socket, plus is already in the EU, i have purchased one!
Received my third and final coil car at this time. It’s a walthers rye. My program for updating rolling stock in action.
Just picked up another box car yesterday. It’s an Athearn Genesis model. Also received another 200 plastic sleeves for my waybills. .
Ok I broke down and picked one up. Couldn’t resist. This actually came out cheaper than buying the two engines separate. At least if I do t use the DCC system that comes with it as a display loop I can pass it on to my son. Although I would rather get him a Digitrax system.
