[IMG]Great additions of interesting vehicles and machines, Kevin. I picked this one off eBay a little while back for $10, she don't look like much,
missing a hand rail and what not, but she pulls like an ox and runs smooth as a Swiss watch. Photographed on the El Paso Model Train
    Club layout.

Just found this nice little item at an LCH. I’ve been wanting to build up my MOW fleet. Nothing like a 200 ton crane to get ones attention. I just need to change the decals is all.[IMG]

Technically, I can add to this thread!!!

Life-Like Proto 2000 E8/E9 purchased well over ten years ago... but still qualifying as "HO Purchase" since I haven't bought anything since!

Now, I need suggestions. While I've modeled contemporary US diesels in the past, I figure I can still work these in as an "Executive" or "Heritage" set (east of the Mississippi preferred). Thoughts?

On an aside, while I can't recall their original price, I'm guessing they were around $60 USD each as that was my comfort point back then (and prolly still is).

As you prolly know these and other P2K units had plastic axle gears that cracked with regularity. And may I humbly suggest the Frisco as delivered paint, with their E's named after famous race horses. A handsome locomotive with those classic EMD lines in any scheme.

You've got the Illinois Central exec E's.

    Or the Conrail exec E's

    Heritage EL or Southern unit

BN exec #3 now at the Illinois rail museum preserved but still operates at the rail events

Just added what i can think of at the moment .

I only have one F&C kit, but it was fun to build. My set of instructions was a little vague, but they make sense if you look at the pictures and use your kit building experience. Mine still needs painted, I am trying to finish some other cars and paint them all at the same time. Since yours is a one piece body, you won’t have to do as much sanding for it to fit together.

The F&C instructions are notoriously bad, yeah. The kits are nice, though; I have fitted the frame to the body, trimmed all flash and sprue gates, and drilled and tapped (where needed) all the necessary holes for grabs, trucks, and couplers. I should be able to spray this one this weekend, if it's warm enough!

Back here in the Midwest USA, it is -21 degrees Fahrenheit. I probably won’t be in the garage doing any painting this weekend.
