Another car finished with decals. This is 100% Shapeways 3D design. It takes some time to get it running well including some extra weight inside. To compare sizes this photo is done with HO car of the same type:
Marklin tan car transformation: Starting point: Repainted, PKP number plate added, walkways and ledders modified, slightly weathered.
I have clicked on the Z forum by mistake and the PKP in title grabbed my attention. Great work! I am starting to work on the N-gauge and it is small. If I were to model the Z scale, it would be "leave it as is".
I am happy that PKP grabbed your attention. Any relations to Poland ? Your nick may suggest that ... Well Z-scale is tiny and practically there is no manufacturer's PKP rolling stock available. In case you want to have some you must make it. We are happy that some German rolling stock can be adapted and 3D design is available. It is not easy but changes and modifications are rewarding. Sometimes you may have the world's only one model of nice piece of rolling stock !!! Well based on 3D designs and components from T scale (3mm) it is possible to have some narrow gauge as well...
Born and raised in Poland. Now residing in US. I do not think there is much PKP even in N-scale. Some German locos and rolling stock which looks similar but yours are exactly what I remember seeing on the rails back in the days. I would love to have a polish based layout but with my limited skills, I am not even trying.
For N-scale PKP models look here: http://forum.modelarstwo.info/threads/polska-w-skali-1-160-modele-oryginalne-konwersje-itp.34456/
3D model designed by one of my friends. The original car is designed to carry on cement: http://www.el-tor.pl/pl/wagony/11-wagon-specjalny-typu-408s.html After cleaning and painting with white primer:
I have come back to old project - passanger cars waiting for decal. Those are Marklin cars with some modifications - roof shape is the most visible. "Factory" photo:
An interesting film made by a fellow Polish modeller with the disel locomotive I've already showed to you an freight cars as well as passenger cars - all rolling stock designed and printed in 3D to represent PKP Polish Railways prototypes. Passanger coaches still to be made by myself:
Some more Marklin coal cars added. There are 7 cars at the moment: Each car is based on prototype painting, has an individual number and different paint and lettering schemes are used.
