What's a Chepe ?
"Chepe" is the common nickname for the railroad that runs through the Copper Canyon. It comes from the initials from the railroad's name, which was Ferrocarril Chihuahua al Pacifico (Chihuahua to Pacific Railroad) or Ch-P. The logo is a stylized foot with a thonged sandal, evoking the idea of the Rarámuri people who inhabit the Canyon region, and who are famed as long distance runners.
