Tower 55

Tower 55 is one of the few remaining standing interlocking towers in Texas. This one is still standing firm at its original post. Ole Tower 55, is practically in downtown Fort Worth. Both UP and BNSF have nearby yards.

      Are they still friendly to railfans? I've heard rumors otherwise.

      I have heard the same rumors. I have a friend that is an engineer for UP in Oregon and on his sub they are supposed to report anyone taking pictures. I personally haven't run accross any animosity yet. There was no one around the day I took this so I can't say for certain.

      What part of Oregon? I've "bumped" via 'Net, into a couple of trainmen who work the southern part of the state, into northern CA. They are fans. :eek:

      Reporting anyone taking pictures? I can see it, if trespassers. Otherwise, a waste of precious time, and a crew's attention. :(
