Side view of my little substation that'll sit on the hillside just above the tracks. Not an exact replica of the substation that exists at East Portal but close enough based on the distant pics I had available. I used parts of an old Model Power kit but the GMM chainlink fence really makes the scene complete

Great job, and yes the chainlink fence does work well in the scene. I also like the danger sign on the fence and the pallet. Very nice!

I am working on a Con-Cor version of that kit as a power station for my mill. I am going to have to get some of that fencing.

Tad, the fencing is GMM but I have used BLMA which is great too. I think the photo etched stuff that's available these days has benefited N scale more than the larger scales?

Hemi, I don't have the space available to model the discharge towers + snow shed out back > only the portal. But the viewing angle will pretty much be from front on when I fit the scene into my layout.

You can almost hear the Bzzzzzzzzzz.
