Familiar ground. I used to run all over these quarries while practicing cross country in Jr High at Oolitic.

The Quarries are still there, but the tracks are long gone.

Monon64, did you see the big trestle that used to be near old state road 37?

As Mikado said, the tracks are gone, but the quarries are very much operational. I was just through there in mid January. From where this pic was taken limestone is still being quarried to the North and to the west just above State Road 37.

Mikado - I'm too young to remember any large trestles in the area. I'm not even sure where this trestle was actually located.
