Coming and Going.
Amtrak train #52, the late, lamented Floridian, rolls through Coral Ridge, Ky. August, 1976
Doesn't look like a lot of weed spraying happened here.
L & N wasn't very good about right of way clearing. Track wasn't the best either. Made for a rough ride at 70 MPH on Amtrak.
Sounds more like a scary ride!
Wife and I were dining on the southbound train one morning. Speed limit then was 70 for passenger trains.
A couple miles south of here there is a curve to the left and then a sharper curve right. The waiter was carrying a full breakfast tray just as we hit the first curve, he did a great balacing act, but then we hit the reverse curve. Boy, those trays sure make a lot of noise!
I'll bet that waiter was one unhappy camper!
