Very nice weathering on these cars. I myself picked up a few. After adding micro trains trucks these run fantastic.
Thanks, they do have their shortcomings but as you know, a lot can be done to make them good models. I used prototype photos as a guide to weathering, Gold Medal Models etched platform upgrades, a scratchbuilt drawbar mechanism between cars, body mounted MT couplers at the ends of the 4 car set, a few added details like brake lines. I used Atlas trucks with FVM wheels mostly because I happened to have a lot of spare Atlas trucks lying around with nothing to do... Richard M.
