Longest car looking for sideswipe clearance
Model wagons on curves "hang out" further than the prototype, thus larger spacing must be maintained around corners to prevent adjacent tracks "side-swiping" one another. Here we see my longest piece of rolling stock - a shiny silver passenger car - and we're looking at how much it overhangs. (And how badly it reflects the flash) There are two overhangs: 1) middle of the car on the inside of the curve 2) end of the car on the outside of the curve I'm looking at 15-17mm each side of track centre of "hit" and so 20-25mm for "clearance" Neighbouring track is 33-37mm away on centres, so I only have 5mm or so of clearance space
