Amen to all that! I only remember the Blue scheme coming through where I grew up. I lived on the 3 a sub which was the old Rock Island and Peoria line. This train woud get coal from Midland in Lafayette and take it to CR iowa.
One of the many rumors I have heard while working with ex Rock guys is the Red and Yellow was Henry Crowns colors. The trustee wanted to get the railroad far away from his influence.RITS has some pictures of the scheme they wanted to do because the blue and white was geting so dirty. Paint what was blue on it black and then blue where the white was. Alas that never happened.
