Irrigation canal lateral in downtown Modesto

If you've visited the CA central valley, you may have seen the network of canals that were built by the Army Corps of Engineers to supply water for farming. Modesto has many of these canals that criss-cross through the city and surrounding area. I've included a couple different styles of 'railroad crossings' as per the prototype. In the foreground, the canal water is pumped under the mainline. In the background, a low wood trestle supports the Tidewater Southern branch line.
